18th April 2017.

Dear Parents and Carers,

We would like to welcome you back for the summer term and hope that you all had a lovely Easter break.

This half term we are going to explore Transport and Journeys starting off by looking at how the children travel to pre-school. As always you can find a resume of our weeks’ activities on the Noticeboard page of our website. This is usually uploaded on a Friday afternoon and not only shows you some of the toys and activities that the children have enjoyed during the week but also has a little paragraph expanding what the children have been up to.

As part of this theme we are hoping to arrange a visit from the Fire Brigade and would also love to have some other visitors in talking about their work – relevant to the theme or otherwise! If you would like to help or get involved in any way then do please speak to Teresa.

Primary School admissions:

If your child starts school in September then please let us know which Primary school they will be attending. This will help us with our transfer arrangements for the children.

Fees and funding:

For the first time in several years we have received an increase in funding from the Government. As a result although our fees have gone up this term we are able to retain the same rate for the additional 15 minutes at the end of the morning session.

Active Kids vouchers:

Vouchers are available in stores until May.  Please put any donated vouchers in the basket in the entrance hall.  We have received some really valuable equipment over the last few years so thank you very much.

The photographer will be coming in on Friday 9th June. There will be a sign up list in the entrance hall towards the end of this half term.

Website Testimonials:

When children transfer to Primary School we often get some very lovely testimonials as parents’ comments and we would really like to encourage you to put some of your comments on our website.  The majority of families come to us via recommendation but their first port of call is often the website. We would be very grateful if you would consider posting a testimonial there - it is very simple to do just follow the link on the top of the homepage.

Childrens’ clothing:

We would be very grateful if you could ensure that your childs’ COATS, BAGS and JUMPERS or CARDIGANS are clearly labelled. This will help us to ensure things are put back on the correct pegs during the session. Many thanks

Summer events

The date for our Summer Show is Wednesday 19th July so please put this in your diary.  The children really enjoy showcasing some of the activities they participate in during our daily P.E. session and circle time at this event and all families are invited.  Please bring your child along at 10:00 that morning and the show will commence at 10:15. Afterwards we will have our summer coffee and fundraising event.

Our Teddy Bears Picnic will be on Friday 21st  July from 9:45 until 12:00. The children are invited to bring their teddy bear in for the morning.  Please provide your child (and their teddy!) with a packed lunch in a named container.

Please note that Thursday 20th July will be a normal session.

May we remind you that we are always happy to arrange a time to meet with you to discuss your child’s progress or any concerns you may have.
