3rd June 2019.

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope you all had a lovely half term break and are pleased to welcome you back for the last half of the summer term.

This half term we are going to be thinking about summer with a particular emphasis on mini beasts. We are looking forward to receiving some caterpillars this week which the children will be able to see develop into Painted Lady butterflies. Towards the end of term we will harvest our onions and potatoes and cook them with the children.

If you would like to help or get involved in any way then do please speak to Teresa. We would especially welcome Dads to put their names on the parents’ rota and help at our coffee and fundraising event after the summer show in July.

Extended Sessions:

Please note that there will be no extended sessions during the last week of term. The last extended session will therefore be on Thursday 11th July.

During the Tuesday afternoon sessions this half term the children will be practising changing for P.E. and we would therefore be grateful if you could supply your child with shorts, a T Shirt and plimsolls in a named bag. On Tuesday 25th June we have a string quarter from Bromley High coming in to play for the children during the afternoon so the children will not need P.E. kit that day.

As you are aware Brenda is sadly leaving us at the end of this term but we are very pleased to inform you that Sarah Walby is joining our team in September. Sarah is very well qualified holding Early Years Professional Status and we are sure she is going to be a real asset. Mary our support worker will also be finishing at the end of this term.

Summer Weather:

The children access our outdoor area every day and we would therefore ask that you put sun cream on your children before you leave them in the mornings and that you provide them with a named sun hat. Many thanks

The photographer will be with us on Tuesday 11th June at 9:15 to take both a group and individual photographs. If you would like your child to be photographed please put your name on the sign up sheet in the entrance hall.

Summer events

Our Summer Show and Coffee Morning is on Wednesday 17th July and all the children are invited regardless of whether they normally attend on a Wednesday or not. Parents stay for the show where the children perform some of our favourite circle time songs and P.E. action songs for you. Please bring your child along at 10:00 that morning then find your seat in the church where the show will commence at 10:15. Afterwards we will have our summer coffee and fundraising event. This year we will be showcasing the Pals Art Gallery where you will be able to purchase your childs unique piece of canvas art.

If you would like to donate a cake for our cake stall or help serve tea, coffee and cake then please watch out for the sigh up sheets in the entrance hall soon

Our Teddy Bears Picnic will be on Friday 19th  July from 9:45 until 12:00. Again this is for all the children and they are invited to bring their teddy bear in for the morning.  Please provide your child (and their teddy!) with a packed lunch containing no nuts in a named container.  Parents do not need to stay for this event.

Please note that Thursday 18th July will be normal timings. During that morning the children will have a mini sports day with races etc in the hall.

Autumn Term:

Please note that ALL children who are returning in September are invited in on the first day of term – Monday 2nd September for our “Welcome back” session.  This is a really good opportunity for those children returning to meet up again after the long summer break and familiarise themselves with the pre-school and one another before we begin to welcome our new starters!  Please put this in your diary regardless of whether your child will be attending on Mondays or not.
