19th April 2021.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to the summer term we hope that you all had a lovely Easter break and that you were perhaps able to meet up with some family or friends outside over the holiday. We are delighted to tell you that Ashley had a baby boy on April 5th and that both Mother and baby are doing well. Ashley is hoping to return later this year but in her absence Lynsey has increased the sessions that she is working

Theme

We are starting this term with a mini beast theme and are looking forward to a special delivery this week of some caterpillars which the children will be able to watch transform into butterflies over this half term. Alongside this we will be looking at the book “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”.

Website Testimonials:

The website is such an important point of contact both for existing families and also new or potential ones and we really would be immensely grateful if you felt you could post a testimonial there. - it is very simple to do just follow the link on the top of the homepage.

Primary School admissions:

If your child starts school in September, then please let us know which Primary school they will be attending. This will help us with our transfer arrangements for the children.

Additional Sessions:

If you wish your child to increase their sessions at all in the next academic year (September 2021 – July 2022) then please let Teresa know. We are currently finalising our September starters and it is therefore important you let us know as soon as possible

Extended Sessions:

Our extended sessions run on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon for our older children and are particularly geared towards getting the children ready for the transition to primary school.

If your child will be remaining at Pals in September and you would like them to join the extended sessions then please let Teresa know (please note that these sessions will resume on Tuesday 21st September) They run until 2:45 and currently cost £12:50, any spare universal funding or extended funding if you are eligible for can be used towards the costs of these sessions

Autumn Term:

ALL children who are returning in September are invited in on the first day of term – Monday 6th September for our “Welcome back” session. This is a really good opportunity for those children returning to meet up again after the long summer break and familiarise themselves with the pre-school and one another before we begin to welcome our new starters! Please put this in your diary regardless of which days your child is due to attend in September.

Summer events

Our (covid permitting!) summer show will be on Wednesday 21st July. We are hoping that we may be able to go ahead with this event although will of course monitor the situation closely as we get nearer the time. But in the meantime, do please ensure this date is in your diary. We hope to be able to perform the summer show in the church as normal and to have some stalls etc outside afterwards weather permitting. During the show we also say goodbye to our 2021 leavers and present them with their Records of Achievement.

We ask that the children arrive at 10:00 that morning and the show will commence at 10:15

We are also hoping to have a Summer special session on the last two mornings of term and will keep you updated on our plans.

Please note that there will be NO extended session during that last week of the term.

May we remind you that we are always happy to arrange a time to meet with you to discuss your child’s progress or any concerns you may have.

Teresa, Laura, Nicola, Janet, Lara, Linley, Liz, Lynsey and Sarah.
