7th June 2021.

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope you all had a lovely half term break; we have to say that it has been quite a year! but are delighted to welcome you back for the last half of the summer term and we are planning to celebrate all things summer with the children and have some fun.

This half term we are going to be thinking about summer and exploring some summer activities such as picnics, enjoying the garden, going to the seaside as well as how to look after ourselves the summer weather (let’s hope we get some sunshine!) Towards the end of term, we will harvest our potatoes which are growing at an amazing pace just outside the front door and cook and eat them with the children.

We have posted the overview of our plans on the Noticeboard page of our website so please take a look and join in the fun at home.

Summer Weather:

The children access our outdoor area every day and we would therefore ask that you put sun cream on your children before you leave them in the mornings and that you provide them with a named sun hat. Many thanks

Extended Sessions:

Please note that there will be no extended sessions during the last week of term. The last extended session will therefore be on Thursday 15th July.

If you wish your child to increase their sessions in the autumn term or to join our extended sessions on a Tuesday or Thursday, then please let Teresa know as soon as possible.

Pals Website:

Please remember that there is a lot of information on our website including all our polices and some very useful downloads. It is also a good place to see some of the things the children are getting up to, as we regularly update our photograph gallery with some pictures of recent activities and post an overview of our plans on the noticeboard page.

ABC Toddler Group:

We thought you might like to know that Christ Church is hoping to resume ABC in the near future. Do please check the church website for updates on family activities

Summer events

We hope to be able to go ahead with our Summer Show and Coffee Morning on Wednesday 21st July. However, as you are aware there is still some uncertainty as to how we will be taking the next steps to normality and would therefore ask you to watch this space!  We anticipate that we will ask the children to arrive at 10:00 that morning and that the show will commence at 10:15 and would ask you all to keep the date free.  Nonetheless, it is possible that we may need to restrict numbers and may therefore be unable to welcome wider family – we will of course let you know as soon as we can.  During this morning we will also be giving our school leavers their record of achievement which will be a permanent record for you of your child’s time at Pals.

On Thursday and Friday 22nd and 23rd July we are planning to have some fun sessions with the children where we will provide some special snacks and enjoy some sports day type activities with them in the hall.  These sessions will run as normal from 9:15 until 12:30.

Autumn Term Welcome Back Session:

Please note that ALL children who are returning in September are invited in on the first day of term – Monday 6th September for our “Welcome back” session.  This is a really good opportunity for those children returning to meet up again after the long summer break and familiarise themselves with the pre-school and one another before we begin to welcome our new starters!  Please put this in your diary regardless of whether your child will be attending on Mondays or not.

As always, we are very happy to arrange a time to meet with you to discuss your child’s progress or any concerns that you may have.

Teresa, Laura, Nicola, Janet, Lara, Linley, Liz, Lynsey and Sarah
